What is the greatest city in the world to visit for a culinary holiday?

I heard mexico city is cool if you don't get mugged.

Is paris still the culinary epicentre of the world?

Saigon was pretty cool. Most of Mexico is nice. As much shit as Austin gets, they do have a good food culture, just stay away from the "famous" places.

fresh fish. that's literally all florida has going for it food wise. miami has a restaurant scene but it's also a ghetto hellhole full of poors that isn't worth ever visiting.

NYC is great and SF is pretty good. Chicago is highly slept on for dining.

>>11165230
you might want to reconsider that road trip route. Philly to Florida is like 22 hours of non stop driving. The USA is fucking huge.

If you wanna do an east coast tour, stop in Charleston SC. Great southern food.

Paris is so hit and miss for food now unless you wanna spend loads of money. Madrid is objectively better. Have tapas every night in different parts of the city. La Latina, Malasaña, Chueco etc. As well as this you've got traditional pastels, Churros and porras at chocolatería San Gines, all the mercados with all the cool food there. Find a workers cafe and have lunch. Enjoy a beautiful city thats almost undiscovered by tourists. Even peak season tourists are barely noticeable especially compared to Paris which is a shit fuck

Seconding these anons.

Spain, Asia, Italy are all gonna be better than France. French food is great but the eating out can be shit especially in the world's most touristy city, Paris

Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Republic of China.

Excellent place is Ruifeng Night Market. Opens at 4pm. Closed: Mo & We.

Nice fucking joke, unless you have the money and time to go places like La Tour d'Argent. Otherwise avoid.
If you want to taste old french cuisine go to Périgord (now called Dordogne) and look for different restaurants there.
Hungary has good cuisine too. As well as Austria.

Mexico City is good, just uber everywhere, it's pretty cheap. Stay in a place in Condesa/Roma/Juarez and you'll be very close to everywhere.

Why would you get mugged unless you were utterly cheap and wanted to save $2 by walking or taking a train or bus. Go door to door. Dine where you make reservations. Forget markets or crap like that without actually staying with a local.
Fun foodie stuff in D.C. and Miami both, just about on par with New York.

I had a good varied culinary time in Montreal this summer, and the US dollar is powerful in Canada at the moment, making everything even that much cheaper.
