Not OP but lemme jack this thread here so my near-NEETness is contained.

I've been preparing bentos partially to diet (it's a lot easier to want to eat healthy and portion control when shit looks uniform and/or cute for me), partially because homemade lunches are nice. But have some questions:

How do I, and how long can I keep [Japanese short grain sushi] rice once cooked? How do I keep nori from getting wet in the box, or do I just live with it? How do I achieve the optimal ratio of "I made it as close to eating it as I could but it had time to cool down"? Where can I get tiny or thin-ass ice packs for mine? Do Japs ever eat their bentos hot, and if so, how do they heat up the rice non-disgustingly?
