Please rate my steak ck. Sorry for poor plating skills.

If you served this to me I would send it back to the kitchen so fast it would make your dumb head spin

Start with a better picture. Your framing skills are shit. I’d also recommend some better lighting.

The center of the steak looks maybe a bit undercooked, and I prefer my steaks rare to begin with. On the other hand, outside of where it may be just a bit too rare, it looks pretty overcooked and dry.
I'm guessing this was cooked on way too high of a heat setting and it doesn't look like you let the steak sit for 5 minutes after you were done cooking it so the center could cook just a bit more.
I'd still eat it in a fucking heartbeat, but you asked for criticism, so there you go.

Thank you very much! I was cooking it on high heat 30 seconds on both sides. Then i turned the heat on medium and started to baste it with garlic, butter and thyme. I didnt let it sit and instead removed it immediately.

I'd like to say plating doesn't matter, but I've participated in a few /ck/ challenges and people here care more about camera skills than actual cooking.

The centre looks a bit under done. The outside looks nice.
But /ck/ will argue about steaks to the end of time. When I go to a restaurant, I order my steak medium rare. (maybe twice per year because I'm poor).

What side dishes go with your steak? Any sauce?
I would recommend some green beans, and a crushed black peppercorn sauce with cream. Also some nice little potatoes boiled with fresh mint leaves.

But I would gladly eat the steak in your pic.

This. It makes all the difference.

did you used fresh or aged? it looks fresh. thats why it looks bad when undercooked. you should have picked a more reddish piece and cooler but longer cooking time. also. spices and usage of sausage, you need to use the freshness as a tool

How to cook these things at home?

Mine never has that charred looking exterior. Just goes brown like a hamburger.

what kind of pan and heat source are you using? cast iron. or iron is the key here.

>> No.11125488

dry it off first next time, and get the pan hot as fuck first
