Victorinox is fine for the price/quality ration but avoid purchasing online.
Too many Chinese fakes floating about.

Yeah it's a good starter set. If you want to go one step up wustof is good. As you progress you'll figure out what you like in each specific knife and you'll purchase accordingly

Between Victorinox drop forged knives and Wusthof classic knives, I would go for Wusthof. If you want a budget knife, then Victorinox's budget line won't do you wrong and I would say to ignore Wusthof's Silverline knives. If you're wanting to try something different, Global knives aren't bad for their price.
If you're a richboi who just wants the best and beautiful straight away, look at Kai Shun premium range. Their Damascus range is also pretty good, but you can ignore the wasabi range.

Imo best knife to start off with that will set you up for life?
Wusthof classic 20cm

This is good advice. Get them in store.
Also, spring for the offset bread knife they are way better than the straight style.

you don't need a full set, i see apprentices come and go non stop all with the same tafe set, 99% of the shit you get is unnecessary.
you only need like 3 knives and a steel
