Wow, white people do not eat spices that don't historically grow in northern climates. What is wrong with them? Why didn't people in 1600, 1700, 1900 and 1950 just go to Whole Foods? Why doesn't everyone do the cool things I do that prove I'm important? My craft beer has cinnamon in it. I bet you drink Coors. But if you drink Pabst Blue Ribbon, it better be with a self-involved smirk on your face, otherwise, it's not ironic enough.

I am of 100% european ancestry, but I'm very cool and in the know, which means I'm on the winning side, which means I'm not white. White people live in suburbs and eat at Dennys, I'm not white. I wish I lived in New York, but I don't live in a suburb, no way.

I mean, I avoid the bad part of town, obviously, but that's because the people there don't have college educations and won't understand my cultured references to camp movies from the 1980s and my thesis on the queering of superhero comic books. I also don't think about it, like, at all. It's like oil and water. I'm so modern and pure of heart that I can't even formulate a racist sentence; not being white also helps.

Read a book, you redneck.

Nice OC, this would make good pasta. If you want an example of the kind of retardedness this is parodying, see https://qz.com/quartzy/1261050/white-peoples-unseasoned-food-isnt-just-an-internet-meme-its-centuries-long-obsession/

Halfway through writing I started to want to create a boilerplate response for all "omg white people" threads, so feel free to edit and alter it if you like.

For me, white castles just makes my farts smell like burgers, mostly oniony with beefy hints
Taco bell doesn't really do shit to me, yeah my poop is looser, but it's not like my gut exploded, there just wasn't a lot of fiber

Good point. True pasta brings shame, shame, and eternal shame to the people who think it's one of their guys letting the side down, but only if they believe it's real.

that article (and most people spouting this meme) conflates bland food with unspiced foods.

a food can be spiced to hell and back but still taste bland if it lacks seasoning. Bland curry is a perfect example: tons of spice, but without the proper amount of salt it will taste bland. A food can also be well seasoned without the addition of any spices. A ripe tomato with a pinch of salt is a great example here: when the tomato is allowed to ripen properly, it will not taste bland when eaten raw even though no spices are added.

the whole "pure food" movement that article talks about has nothing to do with morals (anymore) and everything to do with not wanting to mask the inherent flavor of certain foods with the addition of too much spice. The author also conveniently leaves out the fact that over-spicing food was/is a common way to conceal off flavors in food that's near spoiling. And then there's the whole movement, especially in the Midwest, of bros trying to eat the spiciest foods they can find.

tl;dr spicing is not the same as seasoning and each one is done for a specific reason
