Is it true that buckwheat is hard to get in UK and USA? Have you already heard about this super food that doesn't even require cooking? I'm willing to spread the love to buckwheat around the world. Name better food that can be stored for years,

You can likely buy it at most larger supermarkets in the UK, and it will be stocked by every single Polski sklep in the UK. There are fucking loads of Polski skleps already.

Buckwheat isn't that great. I work with a russian guy and all he ate at work for like 3 months was buckwheat and tomatoes. Apparently his mother buys giant sacks of it, I tried some and it was meh.

I used to mix buckwheat and chia seeds into a bowl of yogurt, let it sit overnight and eat it for breakfast.
Did some ripping farts and epic shits on that diet.

Australia btw, it's in every supermarket here but it's not a common thing that people buy.

>> No.11073676

bob's isn't cheap on anything.
for the kasha, a 25lb bag is about $90 (probably have to mail order)
the stores will sell the 18oz bag for just under $8

plain groats are just over 1/2 the price.

It's probably a regional thing. You can get it in any store around me (e.g. Denver.) I have some in the pantry right now. I've had a few servings of it and didn't think it was that great.

So buckwheat is a hipster health food in the US? In Eastern Europe it's just what poor people eat, I prefer it with a bit of butter and milk

You can get buckwheat anywhere in America. Nobody eats it straight because it's 3rd world gruel. My undergrad freshman roommate was from Russia and would cook that shit in an electric water kettle and it it plain in the middle of the night. Literally worse than oatmeal.

I'm not that anon, but yeah, Jewish sections are common. They are usually in the international Isle. The Jewish section has kosher foods, shabbat candles, etc.

This isn't even true and is bating. Some North Eastern (maybe even in some parts of Florida too) grocery stores do have a Jewish/Kosher section like they do an Asian or a Latin section, but it's not exclusively there for the most part.
