I would start looking local, you're bound to find a reputable roaster around you who can help you discover a lot of new coffees and maybe even teach you some things if you care and ask. Coffee is less about brands and more about knowing what to look for, but the simple fact is that Starbucks is expensive and shitty. If there are no good roasters around you (doubtful) look into craft roasters who will ship to your area, I like onyx coffee labs, brandywine, and sweet bloom. They have huge varieties that rotate frequently so you can try new things as much as you like, or stick to blends that appeal to you. Good coffee is subjective obviously, but a good roaster will provide you with information about the coffee like tasting notes, origin, variety, roast level, and date roasted so that you can use your taste to determine what characteristics you like best. Personally I like Ethiopian coffees because of the huge biodiversity of the plant there and the sharp, fruity tastes they create, but everyone likes different things. Just know that in general darker roasts are used to hide the defects of lower quality coffees, especially from countries like Indonesia and even Central America. Lighter roast doesn't necessarily mean better but typically only high quality coffees will be roasted lighter because it helps to bring out a lot of the flavors that are burned away in darker roasts.

First of all they're trolling. Better, fresher coffee beans > shitty store bought coffee grounds which usually cost about $5 per pound(more like $6-7). These are tastelets that think coffee quality doesn't make a difference because they add so much sugar and milk that at the end they end up with a cup of sugar milk + taste of coffee rather than a coffee + creamer.
Secondly, you can buy bags of single origin coffee (aka good quality coffee that is freshly roasted and slightly more expensive since quality tends to be) online or from your local roaster for $10+ a bag of 1lbs.
Third of all $2 for iced cup of coffee is a lot. A 1lbs pound at $10 dollar has way more servings than 5(what it would cost you to get 5 iced coffees) so you are already losing money doing so.

French presses aren't really worth shelling out huge amounts for. Get something reasonably priced but not dollar tree-tier, and shop around for a well-reviewed replacement mesh filter, that's the part that will let you down 99% of the time.
The Hario Skerton is the bare minimum you should look for in a burr grinder. You'll want to get something better eventually because it's prone to a slightly inconsistent grind the more coarse you go, and it only gets worse with age, but it will do well enough for you to get your money's worth of good coffee out of it.

Not really because it isn't high end enough to the point it can manage espresso, and when you're looking at grinders for regular brewing you really just want the most cost effective option because it likely won't outperform a baratza encore to the point that would justify the cost difference. The major differences in coffee usually happens only within the light-medium roasts, try a Colombian light roast versus an Ethiopian light roast and tell me there's no difference. What's the best coffee cup you own?

Mine is this Aladdin Temp-rite. It's lightweight, insulated, and has a little lip on it that makes it very easy to sip hot liquids from it.
