Ive never actually heard that before, an interesting idea. How come piercing your food is considered uncivilised though? Its gonna be chewed up anway.

Some foods like sushi for example it works since having the aesthetic quality of the food is important so having it whole and unmolested before it enters your mouth is good. But its not that important

For things like pasta the'yre really good since you cna just grab everything like your hands, same thing with grits like polenta or thick oatmeal.

Anything you eat with your hands (mostly snack foods) can be eaten with chopsticks and its way better, no more dirty fingers.

Hold the lower chopstick like a pencil. Now hold the 2nd, upper chopstick between your thumb and index finger. Push down using index finger on top stick.

Good luck, OP.

This. I use them for popcorn too. Or nuts. Anything really.
>>11064943
True. I can use them with both hands. It's a fun bar trick, rapidly eating peanuts with chopsticks in both hands.

if food is big then stab it with the stick
if it's small then hold plate close to your mouth and push it in while sucking
