I'm a farmer and I rarely ever buy food from the stores. Sometimes I'll stop in 1-2 times a year for some junk food snacks, but I'm increasingly disappointed by what I find. The latest thing I tried were these things. Cayenne peppers are part of the ingredients list. Yet, there's not a bit of spiciness to these in the slightest. Obviously, the peppers are super diluted among the ingredients. I can taste sweet, sour(vinegar flavor), and some minor seasoning notes, but nothing else.

I ended up dumping some Hungarian wax pepper powder I made from last year's crops in order to get these to be spicy. I think I'll just make some sour dough sticks for my own snack bag next time and skip wasting money and time at a store.

tl;dr What are your favorite spicy snacks from the store?

Give me jalapeno flavoring.

That "flamin hot" red powder is alright, but I want a more pronounced chili flavor.

ghost pepper Paqui tortilla chips, probably the spiciest thing you can buy from a wal-mart

Hey, don’t pick on Snyder’s, they make pretty good snacks. You know the American taste for “spicy” is rather vanilla... honey mustard is where it’s at btw.

Well, hot wings in general are not often spicy, just intensely vinegary.

The Jalapenos Snyders Pieces are GOAT. They're quite a bit spicier.

Man I tried to enjoy those pretzel pieces but the flavor is so strong I can't really eat it without wincing

I'm not picking on it, it is just lacking I think. I prefer the one with caramel (pic), but the local stores only ever had it one time.

There's no local walmart here. I'd need to drive 200+ miles to the nearest one. I grow my own super hot peppers ( dorset naga, bhut jolokia/ghost, and moruga trinidad scorpion.) I prefer that level of hot in candies instead of salty items while the milder stuff like cayenne, wax, habanero, and the rest on the salty foods.

Yes, I've had the jalapeno ones before and they are spicy, unlike the ones in the OP. Their flavor isn't as good though.

These are 10000 times better and sitting just to the right of the bag you bought. You deserve your fail.

they aren't spicy but they are so fucking good
I could eat a whole bag in one go and then really regret it afterwards because my mouth get cut up

>my mouth get cut up

I hate snacks that do that. I hate fresh pineapple for that reason too. The last time I cut a pineapple up into long chunks, stuck them on skewers, froze them, and proceeded to eat them until my mouth was dissolved and bloody. Only a few chip types do that.

I can go through a bag of jalapeno chips pretty easily but these are pretty fuckin hot, took me weeks to finish them cause I'd be done after a handful
