i used to work at a forensics institute and helped with autopsies. we used regular isopropyl alcohol as disinfectant for ourselves, but for wiping down all the equipment after the autopsy we used some kind of special enzyme-based disinfectant. when i asked why we dont just use IPA for that too, nobody really knew, but apparently it was some special hospital hygiene guideline or something like that
we also used formaldehyde, but not as disinfectant, only for preservation of parts and samples. apparently that shit is the most dangerous stuff in the whole building, people really made sure that everybody applied extra caution whenever handling the formaldehyde.
