The best of it's kind. Smoked beers are usually not my favorite style but if I for some reason want one I trust Aecht Schlenkerla

I had one German smoky beer once and it was amazing (forgot the name). I've been trying to find it again, but haven't been able to find it.
The ones I've tried have been too smoky, almost to the point of tasting like barbecue sauce, including that one.
