I'm so glad I'm not american. I usually walk to some chinese place or something during my break and then eat it while clocked in. Losing the mandatory 30 min but my break usually lasts an hour (everyone does it here so don't shame me)

It's the best option unless you want to buy frozen meals. Certain things do much better as leftovers than others, soups and stews for example rarely lose much in quality from microwaving so you could do big batches and keep in the freezer to bring for lunch. Make sure to bring some decent bread as well with whatever toppings you want. Most salads do fairly well as well, either as a side dish or a proper meal if you got it loaded up with enough filling ingredients.
