Now that you mention it I do notice they always miss one or two ingredients of the 'Gourmet Creations' range here. It's like the staff don't know what's supposed to go on each burger. I don't even work there and haven't even tried them all but I could easily identify what ingredients need to go on each burger.

But that's not how Detroit died oh ye of little brain. Detroit was one of the major global manufacturers starting from the 1920s until the 1980s. It's hey day occurred during the 40s-60s as it manufactured war goods and then vehicles for the entire planet as every major industrial center was completely destroyed. It wasn't until the 70s and following Nixon's opening of China that we saw the outsourcing of American manufacturing power. Additionally America used tax payer money and goods to give Euros incredibly cheap aid to rebuild their own manufacturing center (this artificial low debt was never paid back and was forgiven by Clinton in the 90s). Following this Detroit basically died as competitors opened up in cheaper climates and outsourcing became standard. As such all the great American manufacturing cities (anything in the rust belt) basically went from some of the richest cities in the world to the poverty palaces they are now. Detroit in particular never managed to capture a secondary industry and as the outsourcing crisis of the 80s grew and the crack epidemic hit inner cities it fell to where it is now. Now for some more fun factoids for you, the bulk of almost every major technology center is in the USA. You use services everyday based out of the USA, created by US companies and managed by them. Some countries have tried to get their own going, but have had limited success. The US is currently undergoing the technology boom equivalent of what happened in the 50s. The biggest difference is that we currently have far more competitors that can spin up quick, but they are not ramping as quickly as you would think. On top of this most other countries are suffering a critical lack of technical workers as they flock to the US/China to work in these tech cities creating a brain drain. That's right collectively the US and China bring down the IQs of other nations by taking their most intelligent workers. Basically you're retarded and don't know shit.
