Where can I find recipes for food that actually tastes good?

It feels like everyone who's paid for a spot on google has terrible recipes unless it's baking.

>that actually taste good.
I've got a sneaking suspicion that you didn't cook any of these and have no clue what they taste like.
So what makes you think "they don't taste good" you tastelet?

Also, yeah, they are essentially ads on google. Go to a recipe sight and look through instead of putting zero effort in and hoping google will magic you some food.

Google is awful if you search at random, especially if you're a noob.

Cookbooks are best. The fact that someone had to pay money to publish them weeds out 90% of the bullshit. So are recipes from trusted chefs, or if you happen to find a blogger whose cooking style you like go with that.

If you are searching online then the best advice I can give is to :
a) seek our recipes in their native language by using google translate
b) make sure the author matches the type of recipe you want. I.e. if you want a recipe for Chicken Fried Steak, get one from a fat black southern woman or a well known southern Chef. If you want an omelet, get it from a French chef. Etc.

I'm not OP, but most of those have red flags. I.e.
First one calls for powdered spices. So does the second; it's also calling for tomato sauce, presumably from a can. Third is even worse, it's calling for "taco seasoning".
I can't say much about the last one based on that pic alone. However, I've cooked a few Martha Stewart recipes in the past and they're usually very meh. Not awful, but not great either.

If you've been cooking this much then you should be at the point now where you're not following exact recipes for things that dont involve baking. Just find the best recipe you can, and adjust it to your tastes. Quality adjustments are easy to make: if a recipe that otherwise looks decent calls for "taco seasoning," then you can get your own whole spices, toast them, grind them, and add your own blend to your taste. Things like that.

It’s true, internet recipes are like gambling with money.
Go to Allrecipes.com
Don’t trust anything with less then 500 4 star reviews.

OP here...9/10 recipes I've ever tried from google have been shit. The worst offenders are chinese food, mexican food and most salads. No matter where I go, it seems like everything tastes like it was made by a health nut who makes it either too tart or plain. My go-to recipes have been learned from other people in person, or passed on by chefs. It boggles my mind that there is no equivalent of Dribble or StackOverflow for recipes.

Not a fan of serious eats. He seems spread thin. I’d rather have 20 dishes beat to death perfection then 5000 snoozefests

YouTubers, bloggers, etc. A couple GOAT links:

Real Italian recipes from a Dutch gourmet. Explains the process very well. He links to other good bloggers.

French chef teaching pastry, french cuisine, misc cuisine

Autistic oba-chan tries to cope with the loss of her dog Frances, also makes homestyle Japanese food

Don't listen to anyone that tells you to watch Chef John/Food Wishes or Serious Eats etc. They are full of shit.

How you can tell people to ignore food wishes and seriouseats but then have the audacity to recommend cooking with dog is beyond me.

Her recipes are mostly boring and unmemorable at best. Literally none of them could be considered above average. Putting that channel alongside someone like Bruno is insane.
