Americans make a fine pizza.
I've eaten pizza around the world.

I've had pizza in Italy. Good stuff, great ingredients, but I've had better. Italians do wonderful things with bread, cheese, and tomato, but if I had to choose, I'd still take the American slice over the Italian one.

this could just be selection bias, having eaten more pizza in the US
some of the best pizza I've had was at a place in Lisbon, run by this Italian family, but that place had some of the best food I'd eaten in my life in general, ate there every day while I was in Lisbon, so that could just have been an exception
would be amazing if I could remember what it was called and where it was
