Dunno if it's true or not. But obviously being thin does not mean healthy, which isn't a good thing for keto dieters either.

There was a recent discovery of hunter-gatherers making bread from wild grains, so there doesn't seem to be much basis in the science of evolution of low carb diets. Even for hunter-gatherers who didn't eat bread, a lot of them ate and still some today eat pretty large amounts of honey every day.

As long as you stick to unrefined carbs and don't overeat, you'll probably be fine. Unrefined carbs are much more filling, especially if you make them with stock or milk instead of just water. White flour and water breads are not filling at all, but a whole wheat bread made with milk is a lot heavier and you won't eat nearly as many carbs before you're full from it.

I'm going to give you some diet advice. The larger the incentive to cheat. The more likely you are to do it. And when you do it. The diet is useless. It is not about what losses you the most weight or weight the fastest. But what you can keep to everyday for the rest of your life. Keto works for loser healthnuts that hate the culinary tradition BECAUSE they are healthnuts that hate the culinary tradition. Not because Keto is magical.
What you should do instead is 3 fold.
1) make sure you are getting your daily nutrition
2)get a fitness plan
3) monitor calories and macros to figuire out how your diet applies to it. And adjust to a reasonable target making dacrifises YOU are willing to make to get their based in your preferences. Then when you get used to it stop using the monitoring app and just maintain the diet.
For example I am not gonna give up cookies every now and then. But I dont need them every day. And I was willing and able to switch types of rice easily. And I still have beer or wine everyday. None of these bullshit marketing diets will work on anyone with an actual problem long term.

There are a couple of studies that I've read that all conclude that low carb diets have a higher body-fat loss ratio compared to other kinds of diets. Although most of these studies will point out that after a 6 month period the low carb diets will some how even out with all other kinds of diets when it comes to body fat loss.
