You can't cook with a fork and knife. Chopsticks are god tier. Don't scratch your shit up, no scratching up your coffee mug, they can go safely in any pan. Stir shit, pluck shit, great for frying plantain or tempura, good for omelettes, good for grabbing stuff out of jars. Forks are shit, you can't pick up a food bit without stabbing it and potentially ruining it. Chopsticks are superior. I don't actually know of anything you couldn't eat with chopsticks. "Halfu"/"Hafu" is their usual common term for that in Japan.
It has only a small twang of animosity, but mostly the term just refers to the fact that we could possibly be different from most Japanese in some way.

For example, we could be raised in Japan and just look different, but on the flip side and what's usually the case, we could be very easily mistaken for Japanese, but have been raised in America, resulting in not knowing any Japanese at all, which is, actually, usually the case.

Typically, Japanese people actually like "halfu" people, simply because we are regarded as more attractive, as well as more likely to be bilingual, or at least have good knowledge of both cultures.

More rarely than being treated favorably is being treated less-than normal Japanese people. The most that it will usually amount to is just bullying through gradeschool, or people trying to use English first when seeing that you are not fully Japanese.

Having visited Korea, they have very different flavors of xenophobia. Japan will be very subtle with it, or internalize it. Koreans will scoff at you for not knowing their retarded language, among other things.
