I'm making pasta algio e olio for dinner. Have half a rotisserie chicken left over in the fridge.Thinking it might be good to add to the oil maybe halfway. Think this is a good idea?

I usually add grilled chicken, so rotisserie would probably be good too.

What about simmering in the oil for a few minutes? I want to heat it up anyways.

If the pieces are small enough you can heat it up while mixing with the warm oil and freshly boiled pasta

sounds great. i never really add anything to mine, but thats only because i only make aglio e olio when I don't want to do any actual cooking

I do plain butter and parm too. Family from Sicily does it that way and I got hooked as a kid. So this is more I ... kinda feel like cooking and want to use up what I have. Thinking I'm going to try to heat the chicken in the oil for the flavor. It's a lemon herb so that should do nicely with some red pepper flake.

Yeah I used to do parm as well, going off Chef John's recipe. But recently I've been preferring the simpler version.

Sounds awesome man, hope you enjoy it.
