I hate this shit. If you are driving you are responsible for picking the place if we don't know what we both want PERIOD!

>Typical and polite conversation triggers him

The only time it's acceptable to bitch about this is when there's a woman involved and she gets pissy about what you pick.

False. If I'm driving I'm taking the subservient position. If the passenger doesn't know where we're going, why am I at the steering wheel at all? It's chaos.

Listen bud. YOU are the driver. YOU are in complete control of the vehicle and as such YOU are in charge of the destination unless you have specific plans.

Then get out. I'm only here because you wanted it. I just want to go back home.

No, you fucking moron, the driver should only chose if it's a last ditch effort to come to a decision. The polite hierarchy in this situation begins with the person who's paying if they exist, goes next to the person who invited everyone if they exist, with the person who suggested going out in the first place as the highest if they don't. If you are the one who brought up the idea of going out then it's your responsibility to see an end to the situation. If the driver has to choose then it's an indication of the failure of the suggestor, and their suggestions shouldn't be listened to in the future.

This shit is exactly why I go "fuck it" and go to restaurants alone. I don't understand why it's so fucking hard to pick something and commit to it, especially if you think "everywhere is fine." It's a fucking nightmare for groups.

If you're indecisive, pick a bunch of places and use some sort of RNG (coin if it's two places). If it lands on something you don't like, eliminate it from the list until it lands on something you do like.

people become little children when its time to eat. they need exactly what they want, and if they cant divine what they want, they will cry and scream if what they get is somehow not what they vaguely imagined. i see people in restaurants as babies in high chairs. be an adult, eat what is offered you, or tell your partner where you are going and do it. shoot them in the head if they complain.
