Is there a single meat thermometer on the market that actually works well? Just ordered this after two cheaper ones crapped out on me/ would give readings that were obviously not correct.

I hear the Thermapen is really good. I bought a cheaper one made by the same company for about $15 and it still gives me good reading but it takes about 10 seconds to fully zone on the temp

I use the Javelin Pro all the time for meats and breads and highly recommend it, the light up display can be clutch when cooking outdoors or when holding it at awkward angles

Javelin is the best one after Thermapen, which is almost the twice Javelin's price.

bought a 7€ one from amazon and works just fine

I've owned a wifi, bluetooth and normal digital thermometers. I've only had one die on me and they're fucking essential for making good steak and good full bird chicken.

Yeah. The non-electric ones.

Use your thumb root, ear, nipple, tongue technique. I'll use a device that makes perfect steak.

Grow up.

Are you seriously that poor you can't afford a 10 dollar device?

Maybe youre just putting the tip too far in and piercing past center mass.

retard

>> No.10861604

>>10861597

The thermocouple is at the center of that 'thin part' in the needle, so it needs to be center mass. I've had this problem before. Jab that cunt in 3/4" in at least get the entire thin part into your meat and it'll read right.

I'll just be a better cook than you from the start

are you so poor you can't afford $10 of rope?

>> No.10861620

I cooked like you did for a few decades. Then I stopped being a stupid cunt. You're not better, you're just random. it's the reason most people use a thermocouple to give them direct information. Like people use oven settings because they don't cook like numbers don't matter.

Stop being an asshole, pal. You sound stupid.

I painted over the numbers on my oven knobs. Grow a pair of balls and try it yourself.

You need balls to look like an asshole? That sounds like you're the ultimate Taint. You're the taint of cooking food. Congrats, perineum. How many anuses do you have with that taint level?

thermapen
I bought one. Was rather disappointed when the end cap cracked. It was never dropped, nor did I ever mess with the screw that holds the end cap on. I assume they overtightened it at the factory.
