Do you need to refrigerate pickles? After googling it the consensus seems to be 'not if you eat them quickly enough' but what is quickly enough?

Why the fuck do you want your pickles chilled? Can't handle the full flavor or something? Wow. What a post.

Depends wether they are pickled in vinegar or through lacto fermentation. When a lacto ferment is done you want to put it in your fridge to prevent the pickles from desintegrating.

15 mins I guess.

The cold doesnt allow you to taste the flavours properly, the same with white wine, people serve it too cold so you cant taste it properly.

Pickling is what they used to do to preserve vegetables and meat before fridges were invented.

I don't think you need to refrigerate them, but why wouldn't you? There's nothing better than going into the kitchen at 3:00 am and eating a nice cold pickle. So sour and warm, delicious. Even better than microwaving pizza for breakfast.

Mix a jar of these yellow hot chili peppers with a jar of pickles in a tupperware container. Adjust the chili brine to pickle brine depending on how much you like spicy foods. Let sit for a few hours. Enjoy spicy pickles. Goes good with sandwiches.

Kosher pickles are fermented, as opposed to pickles that are made with a mixture of vinegar, sugar, and salt.

you ever watch chef john and he says "but wait, don't season it yet, since we're serving this cold we need to taste it cold to properly season it" That's because hot stuff tends to be experienced more intensely. Which is the reason I hate hot alcohol

claussens are uncooked and can harbor harmful bacteria if left unrefrigerated. This only isn't true if you cook them like vlassic pickles and canned foods, or if you have lacto fermented pickles that have enough harmless bacteria to outcompete the stuff that will poison you
