I really miss Marisa defending his overpriced .22, and lifestyle. Or recommending the pistol to everyone for everything.

I love my FNP, but there's really no reason to own an FN57. They're a joke unless you're using the restricted armor-piercing loads and then it's not for EDC or home-defense.

>>10835846
I always wondered about this since I don't live in a country where this pistol is sold, what the heck is the point of this pistol if you can't use the AP rounds?

There is no point. It's a high velocity tiny caliber round; a dumbed-down version of the original that's legal for civilian use. A toy.

Watch some youtube videos. There are .22 magnum loads that have near identical performance and can be loaded in a semi-auto. Anyways, more food before a mod nukes me for turning this into /k/. Love my hoagies but damn does a variety of meat and pickled ingredients get expensive. Look at my meaty beast, look at it!

After all these years, and the misinformation is still being spread left and right.

You can buy AP 5.7 ammo all day long. The only round you can't buy is the FN branded SS190. You can buy AP rounds from other vendors. Hell, even the store shelf American Eagle 40gr TMJ penetrates level II vests. For stuff that is even better than SS190, check out Elite Ammunition. Good 5.7 self defense loads can match good 9mm loads in energy and terminal performance, making 5.7 an excellent duty and self defense load due to the higher capacity, lower weight, and reduced recoil.

As for .22 magnum being the same, thats just flat out disinfo. Hot .22 magnum loads out of a 20 inch rifle barrel come close to store shelf 5.7 ammo fired out of a 5 inch pistol barrel, in terms of energy. Most .22 magnum bullet designs are quite poor, and won't expand, fragment, or tumble like most 5.7 (standard .224) projectiles will. .22 magnum out of a pistol, well, you're losing a *lot* of velocity at that point, and if there was any expansion at rifle velocities with the projectile you are using, there likely won't be at pistol velocities. .22mag compares to 5.7 as 5.7 compares to 5.56. The fact of the matter is that 5.7 sits right in the middle between 5.56 and .22 magnum.

I'm not really into pop guns but I googled this, because drama about obscure hobbies is always fun

It looks like that company got raided by the ATF and all their shit was declared illegal

Sorry you had to find out from a gun-grabbing librul

>> No.10838679

>>10838623
There's also the fact that the 22 magnum, being a rimfire, has far less reliable ignition than the 5.7 which uses a proper centerfire primer.

>>10838645
It's no biggie, one can easily handload AP if someone wanted to.

That was almost 10 years ago and the ATF fucked up in their raid.

This too. Elite isn't the only company selling nice 5.7 loads. Elite is still in business today.

Just basic idea of soup, nothing crazy.

>brown chopped onion in butter and olive oil
>add 500g sliced mushrooms and reduce them down, season with s&p
>reserve about a quarter of the cooked mushrooms, roast in oven with more olive oil (definitely not necessary, just thought I'd experiment a little)
>add flour to onion/mushroom pot, just enough to make a smooth roux
>slowly add stock while while stirring (I used about 2-3 liters of a simple vegetable stock I made) and bring just to a boil
>add roasted mushrooms into pot (I reserved a few slices for topping at the end), along with dried herbs (used thyme, savory, and lavender)
>simmer it down a bit
>slowly add cream until golden color

I then added some cooked wild rice, and topped it with fresh parsley and the remaining roasted mushrooms. No real recipe, just a basic tried and true foundation. Basically just cook to how you'll enjoy it. Good luck anon.
