People who want their condiments to last longer.

My mother never did and it would eventually start to bubble. No joke.
I have room in my fridge so I put it there with most items that aren't dried and gets exposed to oxygen.
Sage for such a shitty bait thread.

I barely use pre-made sauces in my cooking, so I've got to make them last

Because it lasts longer and a lot of condiments specifically say on the bottle to keep refrigerated after opening, also I love to have contrast between hot and crispy fries and cold ketchup

It's not refrigerated at the store and forms an oxode layer after it's opened. I don't believe you.

Explain how the ""oxode" layer forms and what it is please, I am confused.

That contrast part, not to sure how effective it is.

>>10826415
Its also not open at the store.

I buy in bulk and end up with a lot of sausages past their date but they don't seem to go bad. So I keep them in the fridge after opening, not to sure if it actually does anything but eh.

shouldn't sausage always be kept refrigerated?

dont tell me you can buy off a shelf at room temperature and you eat that shit.

>> No.10826525

oh good. That is mildly disturbing otherwise.

Keeping it in fridge increases usable time by roughly a year. Versus a good couple months if kept non-refrigerated after opening.

If for some reason you want your opened bottle of ketchup to last more than a couple months, sure, keep it refrigerated. Personally, if I don't use it up in a month, it's a weird situation, so there's no point to refrigerate.

Different sauces, different ingredients, different shelf life after opening. Some will last years, some will go bad in a week. Ketchup is usually pretty resilient, lasting a good couple months.
