Of the cooking "celebrities" (Oliver, Ramsay, etc) how many (if any) of them are actually legitimate? Which give actual decent advice?

Most of them are good, but it seems like they might get a bit egotistical after a while and they put out a shitty dish that they think is awesome even if nobody else likes it. Ree Drummond is okay but she made stir fry on her show once and literally said nobody else she served it to liked it. I think it was because she didn't tenderize the meat, but I'm not sure why she thought it was worth sharing.

I think Jacques Pepin is pretty good though. He has a lot of experience with high-end cooking but doesn't seem to be pretentious about it and his show on the Create channel is about making simpler but still just as tasty food at home, like what he might make for himself.

You can look to them for advice and directions, but don't be afraid to think they fucked up once in a while too. And don't go full retard and think you need to nitpick every single thing they do either, I've even noticed people trying to criticize Ja/ck/ making bad arguments at times because they're too caught up in it.

Their videos on omelettes are still what I recommend to people trying to learn how to make them. They're the best.

Every one knows Oliver Ramsay is the best of all time

>> No.10826677

Jamie Oliver is the biggest cunt going. Champagne Socialist who thinks he knows whats best for poor people in a cluelessly patronising way.

He doesn't show you stuff he would make for himself, he only shows recipes with ingredients and methods he thinks only poor people have available to them. That's why all of his videos are shit and cringy.

>Champagne Socialist
This is one of those stupid phrases favored by people who think they're upper class patricians on account of making $53,000 a year - with 3 kids to feed

Poor people eat like shit, there is nothing wrong with trying to make them eat like humans. Maybe they'd be less fat and have fewer health problems that everyone else has to subsidize

Also newsflash, buddy: you ARE "the poor". So you can stop saying "them" and start saying "us"

How dare he suggest people should eat healthy!

Also, he has like a million shows, and plenty of them feature recipes that aren't specifically aimed at poor people.

I'm not saying he's a good chef, since the recipes from him that I've tried have been a bit bland every time, but your critique is very much off-target.

the actual talent of TV chefs is biased by the fact TV requires the audience to want the dishes and feel like "they could do it", so they end up deconstructing burgers instead of cooking dishes required ingredients and techniques people won't be able to pronounce

champagne/caviar socialism is real, that's basically the core of left politics in Europe. Peaked with François Hollande in France.

Well off educated people being leftist is real, you mean. And that's not because they're confused. Extreme inequality is bad for the long term success of an economy. It is selfish to not want extreme poverty - whether or not you are poor. It is selfish to support universal education, for instance, if you are invested long term in the health of your own country. The tax revenue spent on education or the social safety net helps the people whose capital is going to be unproductive if the next generation grows up stupid and paranoid, like the average Trump voter.

Stop reading ancap nonsense and read something by an actual economist for once in your life.

Champaign socialists dont give a fuck about any of that shit. They just sit around drinking Champaign and patting themselves on the back for being "enlightened". Otherwise they would just be socialists. Dumb fuck.
