How do I make homemade croutons without an oven?

I do this. A seasoned cast iron skillet heated on the lowest setting with some high quslity evoo, a few cloves of garlic and some hot pepper flakes. Leave for 30 minutes, remove garlic, add bread cubes turning periodically until fully browned. Goat af.

Slice cubes and leave them out to dry a little; just enough to hold their form
Melt butter with some smashed garlic cloves till it foams, then toss in the bread and some chopped sage leaves
Keep frying on a healthy heat till browned then season, pat dry and keep in a dry place, sealed
