I've only used shaptons so I can only vouch for them. Great stones but a bitch to flatten when the need finally arises. inb4 "oh but you should flatten before it's necessary", seriously who the fuck actually does that. I bet you floss 3x a day too.

I just use one of those pocket DMT sticks. Takes a minute tops to get anything that isn't completely dull back into serious sharpness.
