Let's talk staple foods, specifically carbs like bread, potatoes, rice etc.

What staple did you grow up with?

What's your preferred staple on a day-to-day basis?

What staple do you think is interesting?

Me: White rice

My Mexican friend: Corn tortillas and beans

Pasta and bread every single day since my childhood. Two-three times a week also beans and chickpeas (eaten with pasta), short grain rice for risotto and potatoes.

Jasmine rice and occasionally potatoes or brown rice. Jasmine has enough flavor to be eaten plain or with minimum additions but not strong enough to overpower other flavors.

>staple foods
You mean poverty-tier, one step above eating dirt, cheap and technically edible filler foods?

I'm not triggered by your poor nutrition, just disappointed. We have better than this.

Asian, so white rice. I'm also genuinely disappointed by people who don't use rice cooker because of some arbitrary reasons you guys made up

Ate a lot of potatoes growing up, and now I eat rice. It's the most versatile carb imo.

Being an Asian. Rice, potato, sweet potato, taro, buckwheat, and barley.

I was raised on that more-seeds-than-bread whole grain turbohealth bread and I hated it, but now white bread tastes like gross, overly sweet candy to me. THANKS A LOT, MOM.

I recommend butter with your white bread to block the sweetness of refined carbs.
