I heard this term mentioned elsewhere on 4chan and I was wondering if you knew about it? Apparently I guess it is some sort of holistic diet plan, but I don't know much about it.

Any info?

I've never heard of this thing before but the name makes it sound like the latest stupid fad diet.

Yeah well the context was a socially conscious woman talking about fat shaming on social media I think.

It's a supposed diet plan made up by angry fat people where you eat whatever you want whenever you want.

Idea is that if your body wants to do it then surely it's a good thing.

What are the specifics?

No idea. Sounds like a stupid fad fake diet invented by fat people. I guess I "intuitively eat", because I get a craving for a crisp salad or fresh piece of fruit, then I eat a crisp salad or fresh piece of fruit, and if anything, I'm underweight compared to when I worked out and played sports.

Intuitive eating is when you pick up a food and you instinctively know that it goes in your foodhole.

I basically do this, the thing you have to be aware of is the difference between a hunger and a craving.

At the moment I am feeling hungry for tomatoes, so I will have a tomato soup for lunch. Not hungry for any dairy right now

I've not seen it outside of vegans, who promote it in the context of eating whole foods and "teaching" your body to crave those foods??

It's based on the idea that the body knows what it wants, and that if you feel like eating 20 double quarter pounders a day, you should. I believe it's also connected to the idea that each person has a "set point" to their weight, and that one's food intake does not meaningfully change one's weight.

Needless to say, it's fucking retarded.

Yes I think if you are aware of this, then the concept is fine.
Fasting can really help you figure out the difference.

stupid garbage that only works for people who have been underweight their whole life
if you were even slightly overweight as a kid then your hormone signalling is fucked practically forever and you're going to eat too much food, even if it's "healthy" food

>holistic diet

So like you eat where ever you happen to be while you are hungry and there's food around? Isn't that what everyone does already? In the 1950s people actually sat down to a planned meal, but now most people just eat where ever they happen to be since there's food literally everywhere all the time now.
