How do people manage to drink beverages like tea or coffe when they're so hot? Whenever I try, I always burn my tongue if I don't let it cool down first.

I don't like hot drinks much but I do like soup. So my real problem is that coffee and tea taste like ground up plant trash, not chicken and vegetables.

Thanks for your irrelevant, mostly off topic blog post about your personal preferences, I guess.

Dunno mate I'm the same. If I don't let it cool down for at least 10 minutes then my tongue is numb for the rest of the day

My mouth is like leather from burning it so many times as a child.
I love hot beverages and soups, must be nearly boiling. The second half is trash unless it's reheated.

Pro tip: your anus does not react to hot liquids the same way your mouth does.

Traditionally they calm the hot drink with milk. This cools the beverage moderately and allows you to skip the waiting period. If you prefer your coffee and tea without dairy, as I do, then brew it strong then drop a few ice cubes into it.

>let tea steep for an hour and a half and then drink lukewarm
A-anyone else do this?

Green tea master race here. I steep my tea at 60°c, drink 1 minute after I pour the water in it.

I don't know OP, I don't get it either.

While we're on the topic on retarded tea questions, why am I not supposed to open these bags and pour the contents in? I mean it's all just tea leave innit?

people are idiots. teacups are designed to be a reservior of hot liquid, that will take a while to cool down. the saucer was originally deeper, less shallow, and you would pour a bit of tea into the saucer, which would cool it a bit, and you drank from the saucer. in the old days, every degree of heat was precious, but you didnt actually drink it that hot.
