They're cheaper in my area (Illinois) than most other beans. If they're extra pricey in yours, try price checking kidney beans, lima beans or pinto beans instead. All of them are really nutritionally dense and are a great source of fiber, protein and vitamins.
Chickpeas are really good too, but they don't mix as well into nearly as many meals, flavor or texture wise.
