Our Publix is maybe a little less than 2 years old, and supposedly it isn't doing well. It's right across the street from Harris Teeter. The prices don't seem much better than Whole Foods. And now we're getting a Lidel.

Milk prices in the US are never actually what they should be. They are "loss leader" priced to bring you into the store where you will buy something else, inevitably. Notice how the milk is always farthest from the front door of a business to get you walk past countless other things.

I remember when you could get a foot long sub from the cooler for like $1.50 more than the 5.99 6" next to it. Then Publix went maximum jew and decided they could maximize profit by only offering the 6" so you have to get 2. Fuck Publix.

Same here but I think it's just to get everyone to buy other things since just just about everyone buys milk.
