Usually just buy makerel, but because of these damn deens threads I also bought a cheap can of deens. They didn't have any other brands like Vargdeenz
From Germany btw.

I have never really tries deenz, should I?

skinless and boneless won't give you the real sardine experience

>> No.10693367

>>10693362
like I said, that's the only brand I found. They had tons of different kinds of makerel, herring, anchovies or Russian sprats but not that many different kind of sardines

>> No.10693404

Also, what do Americans mean when they say they eat them with hot sauce? I only have tabasco at home right now
What kind of hot sauce?

>> No.10693409

>>10693404
They probably reffer to mayonaise since whites can't handle the heat

That'll do, but my go-to hit sauce is pic related. Put them on tip of a saltine with a splash of tabasco.

Yeah, I was like you a couple months ago and I don't regret it. They're good.

Yes. Absolutely. Super healthy, delicious and cheap. If you really dislike them you've just spent a tiny sum of money on a new experience

Want to try deenz too, what are the best out there? Recommendations etc welcome

Ja! is a great brand tbqh.

For me it's king Oscar Spanish style, the best tinned /deenz/

Sprats are sardines. Get Riga Gold, excellent.

How much do you pay for the Ja! sardines?
I buy mine mostly in EDEKA or Norma for around 75 cents.

Tinned fish is great when you don't want to cook but don't want to eat trash. Some crackers, some cheese, mustard or hot sauce and your eating good and healthier for short money. I don't think there's a tinned fish I can't eat though some are better than others

That's actually my preferred sauce to use on deenz. Proceed.

If your tuna isn't in olive oil it's not worth eating

Matiz is the best you can get at most stores. Don't start with cheap stuff or even King Oscar. Let those Galician Sardines flow through your body several times before you start getting into the more standard deenz

>> No.10697766

Pepper sauce on the deenz sounds really good. I'm shocked I never thought of it. The kind I buy is soaked in olive oil and lemon juice, so the sauce should balance it all out.

>> No.10698036

I think it was 79 cents at Rewe.

>> No.10698558

>>10698036
they are 75 cents for the same weight everywhere. Makes me wonder if they even come from the same place and are just labeled for each discounter/supermarket. I can't taste a difference between Aldi, Lidl, rewe, edeka, etc. sardines. I prefer the ones with citrus or chili in the oil, but you can flavor them to your liking regardless of pre-flavored oil.
Might try some more expensive deenz next week, but i can't see there being a difference in taste.

Just fall for the meme once and make your own opinion on the subject.
By the way, don't buy the fancy ass expensive ones, they aren't worth

haven't seen you guys in a while. i have a panini press that i think could easily cook a can of deenz i go out and buy. but before i do, will the bones ruin my experience? scales?

Deenz are a nice snack, but they're not really filling. How do you guys eat them? just with some sauce, or do you make a whole thing with them?

Anyone tried Cocagne deenz before?

cognac?

Just ate the sardines on toast with butter and tabasco. I am now converted. The sour taste of the tabasco really complemented the taste of the sardines.
Will go out and try and buy more different brands. Thanks /ck/
