I understand fake meat for convenience, like meatless hotdogs & hamburgers so you have something to eat at a cookout, but very rarely are they even half decent.

vegetarian and vegan wieners have a very distinct flavor, and it's better than the taste of real hot dogs. if you marinade tofu, it can have the taste of chicken but the texture is slightly off. I haven't had meat in a year, so maybe it's completely different but it's not bad like it's made out to be. meat replacements are getting better
