is there anything dumber than buying a restaurant? seems like the worst possible investment. why do they fail so often?

IMO you either need to be in a great spot or have a good gimmick

location and demographic is the key really

also people are creatures of habbit, which is why chains do so well. nobody wants to think

so if you really want to make money, buy a franchise, put it in the right location and sell shit to your fellow man perpetuating our economy of garbage

I suppose a lot of people think they can build a business on their cooking skill alone.
Then they get overwhelmed by personal management, accounting & marketing.

restaurants are a boomer business, in another decade as we spiral into another economic despair they'll all be gone.

Most replies in this thread are trash.
Where have you ever seen a restaurant that failed?
Are you talking mom n' pip diner types?
Or chain/franchise types?
Because I've been all the fuck over the place, and restaurants make BANK.
Underpaid employees+slightly over priced food=$$$(if youre a manager/owner)
Does everyone here live in the fucking twilight zone or what?
Restaurants are where its at my man.

>why do restaurants fail so often?
Because every idiot thinks they can run one even though they have no financial or business skills.
