Haven't been to /ck/ for a while, do you guys still like actual cooking threads? Doing a variant of one of my fave stews, fabada. Using pork cheeks, leeks, cajun spice and ginger on top of all the usual ingredients. Feel free to rip me a new one, post your own food, whatever.

That is not a comfortable knife to chop with, but I guess it has a lot of edge.

They've got a creamier, nuttier texture and flavour. Normally you have to soak them in water overnight, but fuck that shit I'm hungry now so I got canned ones. >>10634620
Indeed it is not, it weighs almost 3 pounds. Just peeled and chopped all this garlic with it, it was a pain in the ass as well as the hand. Unfortunately all my good knives are at work, this one is the best one I have to hand.
I love getting slightly squiffy in the afternoon

Forgot to mention I added some cornflour, deglazed with about half a bottle of red wine, let it cook out then added 2 cans of the chopped tomatoes. Just added in the black pudding and bay leaves, going to stick it in the oven on low heat for about an hour and a half. I'll post pic when it's done.

Oh ok, my bad. Yeah it's black pudding, a type of sausage made with pigs blood and oats and spices, very rich and flavourful. I wanted to use some Morcilla, the spanish version of it, but it's not easily found in England.

I was looking at one of those folding cutting boards, because I need something to move stuff easily from actual cutting board to pan/bowl. Assumed they'd fall apart withing a few weeks. Seems yours has survived some punishment.

Thing to the left is what I tried getting instead, but they're ridiculously expensive for a piece of bent metal, so I don't want o buy one out of principle.

I have pic related, it also bends along those lines so you can more easily drop whatever you cut in the pot; I've had it for a couple of years and can't say anything bad about it, do keep in mind the usual "disadvantages" of plastic cutting boards
otherwise it's really handy

Get yourself a decent sized chef's knife (8''+) and use the flat of the blade to scoop up your stuff. Or get a Chinese cleaver, those are like one of those scoopers fucked an actual chef's knife.

Got both. They suck for that job, though the cleaver is half decent I guess, but not good enough. Thing is, they barely have to touch the board when scooping stuff and they've dug themselves in. Yeah, I like to keep them very sharp. Also stuff tends to drop off anyway. So, I really want one of those scoop boards/plates/tools things. Hell, I might get myself the working end of a small shovel, even the kid toy kind if I have to, but I want something better than just my knives.

well today at lunch I found pic related, it's from a trip to Japan a year and a bit ago, was quite nice; was too lazy to go to the store so I ate that with a cheese sandwich instead; went to the store later
Japan has some really nice fish cans desu
