Salad. Salad is cheap and tasty.

Pasta.

Eggs.

Soup.

Fruit salad.

Not $40 worth of pizza.

Plov is an extremely cheap and nutritious meal. All it takes is:

>300 grams of meat (whichever is cheapest in your area, I prefer pork)
>300/400 grams of rice
>garlic
>onions
>carrots

Because the rice is steamed together with all the ingredients in a single pot, you won't even need any extra flavouring. I once lived for two weeks on it. Costed me less than 10 euros.

Pelmini is another cheap Slavic dish.

Only things you need for a large portion are:
>flower
>one egg
>minced meat
>small amount of onion and garlic

Rural Russians usually fill their entire fridges with this stuff, it's the insta noodles of eastern Europe.

this, eggs are great and you can make them several ways
I eat a lot of breakfast burritos that are
>3 scrambled eggs for 2 burritos
>1 slice of bacon per burrito
>hot sauce
>small amount of sour cream
>cheese

add an apple and you've got a reasonably healthy breakfast at about 800-900 calories

the key to eating cheaply isn't to rely on some particular meme food, but to actually read your local circulars and get food that's on sale. even fast food is acceptable if you have a shitload of coupons

food is one thing you should budget a little extra towards. Here is how I save money in all areas so I have more for the essentials

Only buying meat that is close to expiry so you get it for half off, then freeze

No netflix/spotify/television/internet/whatevermonthlyservices, everything is free on the internet don't piss money away

no gf

blue lightbulbs, though pricier at first, use less energy and last a decade. As well, they don't interfere with your night vision, so you won't have to deal the the harsh glare of regular bulbs when you rouse from sleep, you can see instantly with no pain (also some thrift stores sell lightbulbs for cheap)

live in the bad part of town, rent is cheaper there

reusable toilet paper

no car

Dress like a hobo and sometimes you will get free food from the food bank people who walk around. I try to insist I don't need it, but they get that from everybody, even real hoboes refuse charity

get your hobo clothes at the thrift store, same as lightbulbs

get day old bread from bakeries, I haven't bought bread in years
