You're confusing two concepts, one of which is the placement of the first person pronoun in relation to other pronouns, the other is "I" vs "me". You are correct that it's considered more polite to put the first person after the third person, but in this case, the use of "I" is clearly incorrect. "I" is for the subject of the sentence, in this case the poster and his siblings are the object, so "me" is correct.

An easy way to check this is by omitting the others involved. You wouldn't say "she told I" so you don't say "she told my siblings and I."

I was the kid going to school with the moussaka and grape-must pudding in the floral Tupperware -- complete with a mum note usually featuring a bundle of cuddles, rivers of love, a joke, and a subtle reminder that if I dare be mean to anyone or engage in any sort of monkey business, she will first murder me and then disown me. Leftovers about half the time. Sunday roast morphed into a nice sandwich, from roast turkey, roast beef, meatloaf. Sandwiches was it. Bad days it was apple jelly and PB, but I loved it cold from the drink. Whole apple, banana, grapes or maybe carrots.

Never a cookie or anything unhealthy like Lunchables. Cafeteria was actually pretty great in elementary and high school Middle school was bleh, and packed lunches alot. Elementary was southern cooking, high school was PTA run "stations" like a great restaurant, from a carving station to a salad bar to a wok. Also, my high schools were "open campus" and people were able to go out to lunch and drive like maniacs to be back on time. That was before 9/11 and campuses that were easy to do lockdown on.

Mom never packed me shit, and I never ate lunch at school.
She would usually buy me a pop tart or a $1 sandwich, back when I loved with her and she walked me to school.

My fondness for lunch came during high school, though. The school lunches were tasteless garbage full of unidentifiable meats and mashed potatoes with buds of cigarettes occasionally in them. I'd usually be talking with friends, or drawing, or some other mundane shit and completely waste the time allotted. Usually, I'd just wait until dinner, when my stepmom, and real dad (lived with him for a time), would make ziti or something else good, but greasy. Sometimes, when I came back from my mother's house in the weekends, she and my grandmother would give me dosh, and I'd take whatever money mother had given me and buy a chop cheese or some burger king after school. I'd also get those caramel "frappe's" McDonald's had, mainly because all my friends got some (I went to a faggy art school where the pussies were tight but the brains were wide open). We had so many stores around our area. One time I'd brought all my friends, and gf, Little Caesars just to stunt, and I felt like the kind of the world. Now I don't talk to anyone from high school; they all presumably forgot I existed, and my closest of friends at the time won't return my messages on Facebook. Ain't life a kick in the head

In grade school and middle school she'd ask what kind of sandwich I wanted and pack a lunch with that sandwich, fresh fruit, homemade cookies, and chips. In high school she just left money on the table in the morning for the cafeteria because I wouldn't take my lunch since the kids that did were bullied unmercifully for being poorfags. I dont understand the tradition to waste peoples time in school.
If you offer free food at school it allows parents to not waste time in the morning doing it and makes sure every student gets at least 1 good meal day.
Same thing with jap schools and students being forced to clean stuff because its traditional, if you hire some janitor to clean the place up the students can spend time learning something.

>Same thing with jap schools and students being forced to clean stuff because its traditional
It teaches students that the spaces they occupy are their own, and it heavily discourages vandalizing desks and whatnot because you know you'll be the one to have to clean them up, just like it discourages others from doing it because you know how lowly everyone will think of you for pushing more work onto your fellow classmates.
When you graduate, it's customary to clean your desk one last time, so that whoever inherits it for the years to come can enjoy it as much as you did.

It's not some nightmarish ploy to save money, it's part of school.
Just like lunch time is much more important for the socialization aspect than it is for food.

You've got to make sure you don't add condiments or anything "wet" (like tomatoes), unless you're eating it basically straight away.
Ham, cheese and lettuce were the only ingredients, besides the bread itself of course.

Besides, almost every adult (especially in Japan) looks fondly to their school days as the best and simplest time of their lives.
Autistic outliers like us aren't the average, anon. It wouldn't make sense to make a system benefiting the few defective children just to rob all the normal ones of thier youth.

High school was fucking boring and mostly a waste of time. University was where shit was actually interesting, and you still had a shitload of free time.

middle school had an actual lunchlady that cooked shit so that wasnt bad
highschool was a mix of cooked and prepackaged shit. only bad thing about it was it was a tossup on whether u got ur $3.50s worth. either small portions or huge ass ones. thursdays were grilled burgers day, always fresh pizza and spicy chicken sandwhiches. if you went at the end of lunch after the bell rang, theyd give you leftovers for free

I lived with my grandparents growing up. I used to get grilled sandwiches or homemade soup when I got home from school (Ate breakfast at home too. I wouldn't eat the schools lunch, it was crap and we got out at 2PM)
Grandparents got sick and I had to learn how to cook the stuff they liked during middle school. Now I hate cooking and it makes me depressed because it reminds me about those awful mornings of bringing them breakfast and medication knowing they wouldn't let go and die peacefully because I was still somewhat young
I made a piece of toast with an egg on top and a cup of coffee, thought of my grandfather and got really sad. Just gave it to my dog instead
