I tried it. Turns out it's cabbage. I can get cabbage in an eggroll that has no scrambled egg in it.

I never see hipsters at any of my Korean restaurants; it's usually just Koreans. W-wait, am I supposed to be the hipster? Nah.

Hipsters is an almost meaningless term in that can be applied to trend-following faggots just as much as it can to "person who cares about a thing more than you do"

kimchi isn't really a hipster thing in my experience. it's more of an aging boomer/middle aged white guy who's never had anything like it before and goes crazy over.

>> No.10582989

>>10582979

I find it hilarious when flyovers unintentionally act like hipsters when their grocery store starts selling a food that they've just heard of because of the internet when the rest of us have been eating it for decades and not making a big deal one way or another.

>> No.10583025

>>10581982
I don't hate it myself, I'm pretty ambivalent to it. I'll eat it if it's served with my meal, but I'll never crave it, or go out of my way to order it. I guess it gets hate because some people talk it up so much between Koreans who are generally very proud of their culture, and self hating whites that want to love anything that's popular and not white. It's really not any more difficult to make, or more complex than sourkraut, and you don't see people pushing sourkraut on you all the fucking time.

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

>> No.10584667

It's actually quite good if you make it yourself. Although you do end up with a couple ingredients that you only use in kimchi and have a near lifetime supply of.
