Who the fuck boils their sausages? You have to grill them.
Also mustard master race.

grilled is nice because of how crisp the casing can get but i have a soft spot for boiled hotdogs since my mom used to make it that way when i was a kid. it's surprisingly good, the dog is still really juicy if you time it right and dont let it burst and has a less greasy taste. rice eggs and sausage used to be a comfort food for me, still is

I can't stand wet sausages. The only sausages I can stand boiled are the one you buy in supermarket who look like complete shit.

i dont eat them dripping wet lol i take them out from the pot onto a plate i line with a paper towel to let the water off and then eat it. speaking of low tier hotdogs i used to eat these memes everyday a long time ago because they were so cheap. fucking horrible casing had no snap at all but at a dollar a pack i had to respect it

Buy somethign like pic related, fry them, stick them in bread, and enjoy.

Proper sausages are cooked through in beer and then browned on a ripping hot pan. Both juicy and flavorful while providing a plesant snap to the casing.

I sometimes brown some sweet onions in butter too over low heat until they are barely holding shape, and serve them on the sausage with a grilled buttered bun and whole grain mustard. Or with heavily paprikaed sauerkraut and pan-fried Perogi.

Sometimes I chill the sausage, slice them, and eat at lunch with a pickle and hard cheese.

Assuming a 6oz sausage at room temp (70f) and a pot with 24oz of water with a starting temp of 212f you would cook a assuage to a safe internal temp of 165f in about 11 minutes. At which time the temperature of water and sausage is equal. So totally valid.

>> No.10578940

>>10578933
Note this does not account for the thermal retention of the pot. Also assuage was a typo

'real sausage'. these are real sausage, you spoiled little petty bitch. you think you're special, or notable, 'for liking the good things'. well the 'good things' you take such pride in liking are also pig slop for the underclass, did you know that? you fucking fool. you are trash, and pretend that you aren't, you are putting lipstick on a crumpled mcdonalds bag.

you all make me sick, talking about whats 'proper' and 'good' in your disgusting food fetishes. get a life, you drones. you're just shovelling trash into your gullet and talking about how you 'like' it. and you have the gall to talk down to one another. as if anyone that takes pleasure from eating has anything to talk down to anyone about, you filthy, retarded swine.

Boil so you cook them through without drying out or splitting them, then grill so you get some char and maillarding. Not hard, just needs a bit of cooking knowledge.

I've done it both ways, sausages are thick. Brown them first in skillet, add water until it's halfway up them, bring to simmer, cover and lower heat, flip after 6 minutes.
Or the same thing, but starting with the water, doing the simmer, draining, then browning in the skillet

Depends on the sausage. Frankfurter's aka Wieners, real ones not shitty Oscar Mayer crap, are delicious when cooked, the skin gets all crunchy.
Most other sausages are indeed better grilled.

I had to boil these since the gloves would have melted on a pan. Otherwise I agree with OP at least when it's homemade or high-quality sausages.
