I've never seen this in a pleb's home.

>> No.10562655

That's like saying you're a pleb if you buy pre-ground black pepper. Nobody hates pepper or nutmeg (inb4 someone says they hate pepper or nutmeg), it's just most people are ignorant and don't realize how completely different grinding/grating whole spices is compared to getting cheap shit that's probably been sitting in a warehouse for 6 months before even seeing a grocery store shelf.

>> No.10562656

>>10562627
I'm assuming you mean a microplane and not whole nutmeg
Either way, both are a good choice

My mum does because she read somewhere that it's a superfood or something. It's not going to do her any harm and I like to use it in some dishes, so I won't bother arguing it with her.
I believe she makes a liquid with them and does a "shot" every morning.

I remember being in middle school and my mom would make me drink these shakes in the morning that she'd put a fuckhuge block of ginger root in.
My ass hole never recovered from that year.

Well I've never ate any sort of Native American food, but I'd presume it's shit.
I'm guessing you're not talking about modern American food because we have everything, so you'd have to be implying either a. you hate all food or b. you thought America consisted mostly of Native Americans/Indians

I mean thats more likely probably because most of them are dead and there arent a lot of people around to cook it, a lot of this doesnt look hald bad

And if you consider people like the aztecs and mayans and toltecs and shit to fall under 'native american', I guess tamales and tacos count.

Does it really have anything to do with being a pleb when there's just a one in ten chance your tastebuds think it's soap?

>> No.10564934

>>10562508
cilantro tasting like soap is actually genetic thing that only affects a small percentage of people, something like 10%
it tastes like soap to me and im not sure about all of you non-plebs but soap is not a good flavour for food

>> No.10564995

>>10564934
>>10564919
It's not like an on/off switch, there are a few genes associated with it, and the group of people with them is only slightly more likely to dislike cilantro. The majority of nearly all groups, with the associated genes or not, like cilantro.

I can taste it, vietnamese cilantro is still far too soapy to me, but I learned to like the common kind. Once you're used to it you notice the other, pleasant tastes more.

>> No.10565003

>>10564995
i see, ive only had it completely ruin a bite for me unless it was cut really fine added to some sort of dish like cilantro rice type of deal maybe someday ill find some good cilantro and learn to not be a pleb

>> No.10565015

>>10564995
It's pretty close to an on/off switch. The OR6A2 mutation is shared by everyone in the group.

>> No.10565126

>>10565015
Are you sure? From what I've read, the OR6A2 mutation only accounts for about a 25% increase in the likelihood that you taste soap, and only 10% increase in the chances you actually dislike cilantro.

And yes I sympathise, I had similar experiences. There was a phase when I was about 6 years old when my mum thought a tablespoon of molasses each morning was a great idea for all of us.....then there was the vaccinations cause autism phase LuL
