west indian food is great. my fav shit of all time is oxtail and curry chicken roti buss up shut. some under the radar shit is guyanese food (pepper pot) or bajan (conkies).

My gf is Guyanese and everything I've had from there is pretty good. The fucking heat they can tolerate is insane though. I'm white, sure, but my threshold for spicy things is pretty high. I've been to Thailand and I've had really hot and authentic world cuisine all over Toronto where I live. I dated a Pakistani girl whose family cooked insanely hot things from time to time.

But good God, these people are on another level. Every single meal of every single day is MELT YOUR FUCKING FACE hot. I'm in awe of it sometimes. I've never had food that is so consistently and so RELENTLESSLY hot in my entire life.

Hell yeah. I'm blessed with having a Trinidadian grandma and she makes the best curry chicken anyone's ever made me. That and her pilau recipe.

I was able to go on a trip to T&T a few years back and had doubles, bake & shark and goat roti. Top tier cuisine and some amazing beaches/mountains. Would go again.
