Yogurt only contains lactose. That is, unless you're eating the sweetened, manbaby kind.

>> No.10528271 [DELETED]

a healthy adult male can process 50 mg of sugar an hour with no significant effect on blood glucose

100 mg exceeds the body's normal ability to process sugar and there is a period of time before insulin levels rise and blood glucose drops which has a significant effect on the use of vitamin c and the immune system

carbohydrates also raise blood glucose in the same way, though at a reduced rate, determined by the glycemic index

the pancreas is part of the immune system and pancreatic cancer is linked to high sugar so there is likely a connection

while there is little risk of cancer by occassionally eating more than 50 grams, once you start to get older you might want to consider avoiding large quantities of candy

>the pancreas is part of the immune system and pancreatic cancer is linked to high sugar so there is likely a connection
There’s a well documented connection, and it’s not just specific to one part of the body. Glucose inhibits a major defense the body has against cancer and viruses by allowing cells to override the natural programmed death response that would normally remove sick or cancerous cells thus allowing them to persist and spread.

I fucked up twice in my post. I confused the pancreas with the spleen and grams with milligrams. The pancreas produces insulin so obviously that is the connection.

>Glucose inhibits a major defense the body has against cancer and viruses by allowing cells to override the natural programmed death
Your body produces glucose even if you eat an all fat diet and cancer cells often switch off apoptosis

tl;dr don't eat more than 50 grams per hour, don't smoke and don't be obese and your risk of pancreatic cancer will be pushed down about as far as you can reasonably go

I recently found out that sugar is (or can be) more addictive than heroin and since then i try to avoid it, but it's in literally every fucking thing. Am i overthinking this whole thing or is sugar really that bad?

Do you have some medical background or something (doesn't matter, just curious)? I do not, but I read things occasionally in my spare time. I've seen some research lately that seems to indicate that glucose actually does suppress the apoptotic process.

The summary of the one I'm looking at now says:

"Glucose promotes survival of rat pancreatic
beta cells by activating synthesis of proteins
which suppress a constitutive apoptotic
program."

Lactose in milk is nowhere near as bad as sucrose and fructose though. Unless you are allergic, obviously.

Also fruit at least has fiber and a glass of juice would normally have 3 to 4 times the amount of sugars a large apple does and you are more likely to drink a litre of juice than eat 20 apples in a day.

Don't eat any carb-rich food that doesn't have fiber, that's my rule kinda. Honestly, I tend to avoid carb-rich foods altogether(like grains) because they make me feel fatigued for some reason. Maybe its beetus, but I'm feeling fine as I'm on low-carb, high protein and fiber
