Did anyone else fall for the "folding egg whites into waffle/pancake batter" meme?

It's fucking shit. All it does is make your pancakes more soggy and deflates them.

It’s horseshit. Beating air into eggs was how to fluff up bread stuffs before baking soda. Just use baking soda.

this but with just-expired yoghurt

Yogurt in pancake batter is godly. I use a slightly sour yogurt to start with, so no need to let it expire before using it.
I really should try it in waffles.

well, in my household growing up, it was more a way to just get rid of expired yoghurt. waste not want not, and all that

>I really should try it in waffles.
go for it, waffle and pancake batter are basically identical as it is

I learned the same in my household.
>a way to just get rid of expired yoghurt.
For me that lesson translated in to a mindset to not let food get old in the first place.

>waffle and pancake batter are basically identical as it is
Yeah, which is why it is strange to me the idea never crossed my mind until just now.

op is half wrong....it works and is tasty but they dont hold, you have to eat them then and there, like a souflee

Ah okay, not a problem for then. Probably ill-suited for a breakfast get together where you'd be turning out huge stacks of them from a giant bowl and batter and then keeping them warm on a cookie sheet/roasting pan in a very low oven until serving. Thanks.
