I've been keto for the last month, and I think I took the no carb thing too far. I was never hungry sure, but my stomach hurt, I had no energy ever, felt kinda gross. I've been slowly easing back into carbs.

But apart from that, It's true that it is a bit messy, but I look at it from a flavor standpoint. Breads compliment flavors but can easily drown them out. I think we've all been to barbecues where those huge fucking white bread buns drown out the otherwise good burger in a sea of cardboard.

Especially with Turkey burgers, you're working at a disadvantage fat wise already. So I combine it with 1 sandwich thin and boom. They were really tasty tonight

I did, I figured it was keto flu. The problem was it lasted like 2 weeks, was affecting my fitness, had no end in sight. I don't drink caffeine so i couldn't supplement my energy. I'm just going to try lower carb life instead of no carb life and see if that's a good compromise

I'm having to get creative with my cooking right now and just use what I already have, because I'm pretty much broke till next Friday.
So, for dinner I cobbled together a persian-ish style flatbread wrap, but no meat because the only meat I have right now is a summer sausage and tinned anchovies and sardines and those are reserved for later in the week. Anyway
>toasted a handful of walnuts in a pan, then set aside
>saute onion in olive oil till soft and browned
>add a big drizzle of pomegranate molasses and let it cook into the onions a minute
>add walnuts back to the pan, also some sumac and lemon zest, stir to coat well and let cook over medium-low a few minutes
>grill flatbread
>add pomegranate-walnut-onion mixture
>add sliced tomato, sliced cucumber, and arugula
>top with yogurt and wrap up
Fucking delicious. Too bad it used up the last of my arugula and cucumber, though. Also used the last couple pieces of flatbread, but I can make that from scratch if need be.
