not that anon, but i usually toast them on a pan, under the broiler in the oven, or over charcoal. but i think they're nice fried too.

kinda surprised someone hasn't busted your balls for not using real cooking lime and corn to make your own tortillas from scratch. it's really the only proper way to eat tacos after all.

jokes aside, i think the best thing about tacos is that you can really take it in a lot of different directions, and they're all pretty great.

Tacos usually have what you call a "soft shell". Fried tacos do exist but they are either toasted on a pan or oil with the ingredients already inside. This way the tortilla shapes around the filling and almost seals itself and it does not that that marketable, while fake-looking perfect curve.
Something about pan-toasting is that the middle of the tortilla does not get toasted so it retains flexibility, so you hace a sealable and crunchy sides that can still hinge open

Get a pressure cooker. I had a slow cooker before but its not the same. You can cook 5 lbs of pork in about an hour that falls apart and tastes better than the slow cooker. It's no meme, it so worth it. My favorite part is you can saute meat in it faster than a pan and then deglaze all of into it for the full cooking. Either is amazing but i love not waiting 8 hours anymore.

They are cool once you get use to them. They have a super small heating element at the bottom that heats up so fast. But it can tell when shit is burnt and will stop and let you know. And the lid freaking latches and twists on so its all good and snug. And it isn't on the stove or in the oven so no sploding. This is what that cheap chuck roast turned into after only 45 minutes in it.

Do you know why I like the slow cooker? Because you leave that shit alone while you're at work and come home to a fantastic meal. Most recipes take like 10 minutes of prep, tops. My pulled pork came out so good it was the stuff of legends. I'm actually going to make Nachos out of some of it in a little bit here, I should have taken a picture but it just tasted too fucking good.

Dinner tonight:
Slow roasted moroccan spiced pork with tart-cherry and pomegranate glaze
Quinoa tabbouleh
Stuffed grape leaves

The pork came out really well, will definitely make it again. Quinoa tabbouleh was an experiment, I'll probably just use bulgur wheat like usual the next time I make it.

Not well. I have pasta on Mondays and have been trying to get meatballs down pat. However I find the meatballs don't turn out that meaty (despite skimping on the bread crumbs) and the sauce (which I buy) always turns out sweet, which I haven't been able to compensate for.
Additionally I've been playing around with adding some chilli, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Adding it to the sauce did not impart a homogeneous heat like I wanted and I've already got a nice spice combination going with the meatballs.
Suggestions?
Also I'm only making one serving, so making my own sauce probably isn't worth it especially since I find sauces with more vegetable ingredients better.

I made a traditional curry for my host family.
It’s the first time I’ve cooked for them and they seemed to enjoy it although there are some ingredients I couldn’t find in the grocery stores here. I had to swap the mutton for beef.
