Since summer is creeping up, what are some simple summery drinks for lazy days in the sun?

My usual go-to's are mojitos and mai tais. Thinking of buying midori and doing some mixed drinks with contreau

>> No.10508459

Ice and gin. The whole point of summer is to just get blasted and pass out in a pool float or, then shitting yourself

Not alcoholic drinks, but here in Mexico we got a lot of "aguas frescas", which is basically just some fruit, grain or even cocoa with optional herbs or spices blended to a concentrate with some water, then mixed with some more water, some sugar, a pinch of salt and ice.

One of my favorites is "agua de chaqueta" which is made with the toasted shells of cocoa beans (for 3 liters you'll need 2 cups), they are blended with about a half a liter of water, doesn't matter really, just get that concentrate, then strain it and add the rest of the water, a pinch of salt, ice and sugar to taste.

Fucking delicious

A good tequila like herradura reposado and some kalamata olives are good for summer.

Last summer I fell in love with lemonade tea, aka. arnold palmer. But I'm pretty sure drinking it all the time wouldn't be so good for you.

What is that in English? There's some vernacular going on there.
"Girly water?"

No, it'll be jacket water i believe, as if the shells
were the jackets of the cocoa beans.

And "chaqueta" is an actual word, recognized even by the RAE.

I created my own, still ironing out the details. Couple fingers canadian whiskey, a bottle of pineapple cider (been using Ace brand), a splash of elderflower liqueur, and topped with coke. I'm calling it the Honolulu Sunset. The dark coke slowly descends like a tropical sunset, kinda like a tequila sunrise in reverse.

Conversely, are there any good drinks that go well with colder weather? Having some friends over for a bit in July and don't want to just subsist off beer the entire time.

I love this little-known cocktail called a Rickshaw, it's gin, lime juice and basil syrup, very aromatic and refreshing

really ghetto sangria is a good summer drink. im talking just some red wine, 7up, orange juice, and calling it a day. mmm-mmmmmmm

i cant stand real sangria from bars and stuff, it's just too sweet and it's too alcoholic to drink a lot of. just wine and non-alcoholic drinks added is more appropriate for sitting around drinking it all day

>>10508953
Bud Light Lime is more like alcoholized limeade than beer 2bh

that said, mexican beer and lime is a better winter drink than summer drink imo. in fact, white beer garnished with orange slices is considered maximum comfy snowstorm drinking in quebec, never to be seen in spring or summer.
