Meatloaf is delicious. Have a slice...or three. Great home style American dinner. Comfy to have. Hearty to eat.

Personally, I like it with mash and corn. And you, fellow loaf lovers?

I think I'd rather just have a burger, but meatloaf has a delicious taste a burger can't replicate unless it's salisbury steak or something.

i really stretch the meat. not to save money, but 'cause i think it tastes better.

like 30% beef, 70% filler.

i use:

rolled oats
eggs
carrots
onions
garlic
celery
parsley
tomato sauce

roast the hell out of the veggies first. i want them near-dehydrated, to avoid a soggy meatloaf.

They don't taste bad. I certainly prefer it made from scratch because I like mine on the chunky side, but I enjoy some instant ones as well when lazy.

Idahoan is the better brand. I usually add some parm, black pepper, and butter for taste.

You don't need a sauce unless you're having it with pressed or whole potatoes, and then you want a thin sauce based on the meat juices from the loaf, especially for pressed potatoes.

Gotta be meatloaf with mashed potatoes and peas for me. If it's beef gravy, the mashed potatoes can be standard. If it's a spicy tomato glaze, the mash needs to be roasted garlic and skin-on Yukon golds or redskins.
