Are smoothies a meme?

>> No.10496065

No.

But I'm not gonna pretend they're a health food. They're a delicious, sugary dessert.

Is just a food

>> No.10497226

Yes. Everybody acts like they're really healthy while all you're doing is destroying the fibers so they become sugar/carb bombs.

>> No.10497235

>>10496034
Not really, they've been a fad for as long as I've been alive and I'm in my 40s. What's relatively newish is the idea of making them from fruits and vegetables that were never frozen, and the idea of using mostly green vegetables, more flavorful stuff like ginger root and various greens, and less sugary stuff like pineapples and so on.
>>10496065
>all smoothies are sugar bombs
Ever gone to a place that wasn't Jamba Juice?
>>10497226
No one food is "really healthy", you need a variety of things to survive. An astringent, flavorful smoothie or juice is sometimes enjoyable on the grounds of taste. I'm sorry you guys are "allergic" to vegetables.

>allergic to vegetables
No, I just eat them instead of converting them into syrup, so you actually get the fiber you need. I bet you get constipated from eating a single whole piece of fruit.

I generally use a splash of milk and OJ, one whole banana, some frozen strawberries, and some frozen mango or berries. How is that not healthy, you faggots?

>> No.10497645

>>10497226
I thought smoothies keep the fibres as opposed to juicing.

>> No.10497748

No, but juice is. Smoothies have all the goodness still in them

The issue with juicing is that the fiber is in the parts people usually throw away, like the peal, and such.
The meme is that running your veg and fruit through a blender destroys the fiber content.

>>10497558
because of course you can’t see a smoothie without getting triggered if you eat fruits and vegetables

No they're a mixture of liquidised fruits, vegetables and supplements.

In english, you would say "liquefy," tard.

>> No.10498018

Actually you'd say "liquefied".

So go easy on throwing around names champ.

But that would be incorrect.

Only if they're made that way. I use some fruit and berries to make smoothies but I also add 2 cups of spinach, a medium carrot, a tomato, and half an avocado.

>>10497630
All fruit (LOTS of sugar) and no veggies. Aim for at least 50% veggies.

>>10497226
>>10497558
Blending doesn't "destroy" fiber.
