Del Taco is good, and on average I would say better quality for the price than Taco Bell, but they'll never have meme magic like Taco Bell does because they will never have excellent insane creations like Cheesey Gordita Crunches, Volcano Sauce, Baja Blast, etc etc

Most of the time I eat Taco Bell it's because I specifically crave some specialty item they have or want to try a new one, so they usually take priority for me since I usually opt for burgers over tacos, but if I do just want some good fast food tacos/burritos I'll prefer Del Taco

I love in Michigan, there is a Del Taco near me. That being said, it's a farther drive from either of the two Taco Bells within a mile from my house, but I still make the trip there from time to time because it's good.

We also have White Castle and Checkers/Rallys everywhere here, used to have Hot N' Now, still never saw a Sonic, only recently saw a Popeyes close to my residence
