Here are my observations of ethiopian food
-inajera tastes like a soggy, sour , weird pancake and is inferior in every way to naan or roti or any other bread from the middle east or central or south asia
-the "curries" in ethiopian food are less flavourful than curries from the indian subcontinent
-their yellow lentil thing is just a less flavourful daal
-the only times I've had curries from an indian/paki/bangladeshi restaurant that were as bland as as the ethiopian food I had were when the staff were cooking north indian/paki food. Literally any Sri Lankan or Tamil or Goan or kerrallan restaurant would slap the shit out of ethiopian food.

So that's what I think about it. They really should not be proud of themselves.

It is related. Etiopians have written down all the story into the kebra nagast, if I do remember it correctly; They and the original hebrews were a covenant back in time.

As a consequence, you can find many recipes, I choose cholent (or hamin) as an example, that have a 'mirror recipe' in etiopian cuisine.

They have many things in common these recipes: A style of cooking which differs from anything else in the region and the cleaning of the ingredients, with an almost obsessive care.

Yes. You can throw a hissy fit if you want but what I'm saying is accurate. the yellow lentil slop you get at ethiopian restaurants tastes like daal but not as flavoursome. The brown beef/mutton "curries" shown in the OP are reminiscent of indian curries but the meat is more pulverised and spicing is less flavoursome and seems as though the spices they had available to cook with are more limited.

I've actually never looked into making my Ethiopian at home. Seems like a hassle. Then again, I live near an Intel so there's a big Indian population with a bunch of little shops that sell bulk spices and whatnot for super cheap, and I do make half a dozen Indian dishes pretty regularly.
